Starting at the turbo discharge our downpipe bolts up with a CNC machined turbo flange. A slight expansion to the stock turbo outlet allows exhaust gases a smooth transition to our 3" piping. Two slight bends allow the body of the downpipe to clear the heatshields, power steering rack, and quattro transmission. A stainless steel flex section accurately placed allows for engine movement. The 42 Draft Designs signature adjustable 3-bolt flange finishes up the first section of the downpipe, allowing for precise adjustments in fitment. Next a Magnaflow cat bolts-up and piping makes an S-bend to meet the stock exhaust location. An adaptor is used to allow bolt-on fitment to any stock or aftermarket cat-back. The whole system bolts together with grade 5 hardware and triple layer gaskets. Mechanical locking nuts are used to ensure these downpipe never comes loose.
42 Draft Designs 3” downpipe is the single most effective bolt-on upgrade for the Audi TT 180Q. No other basic physical modification can compete with the power gains delivered by this fundamental upgrade. Simply reducing backpressure creates useable horsepower and torque throughout the power band while also improving turbo spool and throttle response.
The 42 Draft Designs Audi TT 180Q 3" Downpipe upgrade upgrade is available in two configurations - street or race. Street series downpipes include a high-flow cat using a 200/cell high-flow catalytic converter. Race series downpipes include only a test pipe for track day. Test pipes and cat sections are available separately for those who wish to change at a later date. Thanks to the modular flange design the cat can be easily removed on race day and reinstalled for street use.
This downpipe will NOT fit 180 FWD or 225Q TTs. The 180Q exhaust layout is unique to the the 180Q. This downpipe will fit no other TT or VW. 180 FWD & 225Q downpipes are available.

42 Draft Designs now offers v-band connection flanges with the stainless steel exhaust systems. Compared to 3-bolt flanges, exhaust systems built with v-band flanges are easier to install and adjust. V-band connections don't require a gasket, and can be serviced with a single tool. Overall, v-band flanges speed-up initial install and race-day component changes.
These V-band flanges are CNC machined from 304 stainless steel. Using a male/female fitment specification for the flanges aids in sealing the connection. Due to the material cost and manufacturing time, v-bands will remain a premium option.
