The APR Carbon Fiber Intake System is an attractive high-performance upgrade designed to increase performance by letting the engine breathe more freely.
The factory intake design has the foundation for excellent performance, but much of this is sacrificed in an effort to meet other design requirements. With requirements set forth for only supporting factory power output levels, low engine sound levels and long service intervals, there is plenty of room for improvement.
The APR Carbon Fiber Intake System increases performance primarily by improving mass airflow through the system while still proving adequate filtration. Expect greater horsepower and torque through the power band with a more direct and responsive feel upon pressing the throttle. Sounds from the engine and turbocharger are enhanced and some may even experience better fuel economy depending on driving style.
Ram air induction is accomplished by maintaining the oem air inlet opening at the front of the leading hood edge which is the highest pressure area of airflow across the entire vehicle. Placement of the air filter as close to this high pressure zone as possible results in overcoming some of the airflow restriction created by even the highest flow air filters available.
The OEM intake system vents some of the incoming air into the engine bay and takes several twists and turns before the air ever reaches the turboharger. The Carbono intake system symplifies the intake system by directing all incoming air directly at the filter.

I installed this intake over a year ago and still love it. I felt a slight increase in power and it looks great as well. I read the post of the guy below. Its true, this intake does utilize the stock lower box. But I don't hear a wistle sound on mine. Must be the installer.

first off...it uses the stock bottom half of air box if you have an A5 2.0TFSI and to boot it fits it poorly as well....whistle gets annoying after awhile too!

First I want to say that I am very pleased with my new carbonio intake! In my opinion, the performance has improved a little bit, and the sound of the engine is much better than the OEM intake!
